The Property

What a Wailea welcome! We pulled up to the hotel and through the gate to the main entrance, we were greeted with an Aloha, a beautiful lei and kukui nut necklace which put a big smile on our face!

We were lead to the check in where they served us some chilled champagne while walking us through the property and escorting us to our villa, number 073!

What a place! We had the upper right balcony unit, there are four units in each building. The view was stunning, it over looked the garden and in the distance were beautiful palm trees and a view of the ocean…just gorgeous!

Pool Area

Great pool, cabana and bar area! Every thing you could need to enjoy a day in the sun or shade depending on your preference. The pool was a great size and surrounded by cabanas that could be used or sun loungers with umbrellas.

There were these neat little water recliners that could be taken in the pool so you could sit and read or just relax. Across from the pool was the bar and small restaurant where you could order drinks, snacks or lunch through out the day.

Our room, had a great open layout with a kitchenette, living room/office, ocean view balcony, large bedroom and a perfectly broken up bathroom!

Hotel Wailea is beautiful, but does require a bit of walking, there are many steps and slightly inclined paths leading to the different areas and amenities on the property. However, at any time you can arrange for a golf cart escort to get to where you are going very quickly!

Beachfront

When you were ready to got to the beach, you just called the front desk for a ride. A valet would pick you up at your villa, and drive you down to the beach which took about five minutes!

When you arrived, there are a few staff members to greet you and set you up with towels and chairs under an umbrella on a Bech, they provide a water as well!

Outrigger Kayak

Schedule your tour we highly recommend it! You get a Hawaiian history lesson, learn an ancient chant and get to see a sea turtle and a whale if you are lucky!

There are paddle boards and kayaks to take out if you are adventurous enough to do so!

The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea

The night we arrived we had dinner at the hotel restaurant, what a treat! We sat on the balcony and watched the sunset. It was beautiful, sherbet skys!

We snacked on Hawaiian Ahi Poke Cracker with Squid Ink, Ponzu Gel and Smoked Kona Kanpachi with Brik Pastry, Yuzu, Dill and Shrimp Sumai with Pear, Hot Mustard.

For our main course we enjoyed a Steamed Local Fish with Bok Choy, Olena Nam Pla and American Wagyu Short Rib with Smoked Garlic & Potato Purée, Cipollini, Haricot Vert, Pickled Mustard Jus.

And our favorite part of dinner, DESSERT! Where we had Hawaiian Molten Chocolate Lava Cake, Honey Marshmallows, 151 flambée. This was fantastic, a real twist on the normal lava cake we know and love.

Treehouse

On property is a treehouse, much more luxurious than one might think at first through, it is a small and intimate pavilion located on the property amongst the trees.

We were lucky enough to enjoy this perfect space to sip champagne at sun set. The sun went down and presented the most beautiful colors over the ocean water as the palm tress swayed in the distance. It was incredibly romantic.

Maui Roadsters

VROOM, VROOM! We rented the Hoka: Classic Silver 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster reproduction, what fun! We saw this little car parked out front of the hotel and from that moment forward we had to take it for a drive!

Hotel Wailea made all the arrangements and we rented the car from 9AM to 1PM. We hopped sun-blocked up, hopped in the car and hot the road! There is nothing better than cruising with the top down ocean breeze in your hair!

We took the 356 all over the place! First down by the water as we wanted to get some pictures with the drone from above. Then to up country to check out the lush green surrounding and Maui Wine!

Renting this speedster was the best decision of our trip! We highly recommend Maui Roasters, and can’t wait to go back and rent another gem from the fleet!
