Life and My Lens
SHAWN & Ali WALTERS

We pulled up to “The Pink Palace” in our taxi, what a stunning hotel! As we walked through the doors and into the urban oasis we were in awe as it felt as though we were walking into a museum, there was ART EVERYWHERE! Pieces by Jeff Koons, Andy Warhol, Takashi Murakami, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Tom Sachs - the list goes on! As art lovers the hotel had a collection that blew us away!
*Make sure check out the Sean Kenny Lego Model of the Hamilton Princess it is just great!

Our Room
We stayed in a Fairmont Gold Harbour View, King Room, it was lovely. As you enter in there is large walk-in closet to the left and water closet to the right, the hallway opens up to a nice sized room with a king bed, tv, small sectional, desk with two chairs and a large balcony overlooking the courtyard and Hamilton Harbour. There is a Nespresso machine and small refrigerator tucked away in the corner. I would definitely recommend this room, we absolutely loved the view.

IN ROOM ART: Money Map of Bermuda by Justine Smith, this piece was truly unique, possibly our favorite on property.

The Courtyard
The courtyard is brilliant, it encompasses everything you could ask for, with photo opportunities everywhere you turn! There is a huge sculpture “This is the Time” by KAWS, a small “Greetings from Bermuda” Mural created by our friends Victor & Lisa at Greetings Tour (find them on instagram, they paint some really cool murals) and a neat piece of art that is a pumpkin and I forget the artist of that! There is a bermuda-ful walkway under a palm tree lined, pergola covered path that leads to the adult pool & Hamilton Harbour.
There are two gas fireplaces beneath the palms with seating for an intimate drink or visit. You can also enter both restaurants, Marcus’ and the Crown & Anchor from the courtyard, which is really convenient.

Pools
Infinity Pool
What a spectacular pool! The infinity pool was large with many sun loungers and a large pavilion so you could find the right spot whether it be in the sun or shade! The neighboring palm trees set the scene, making it the perfect place to watch the sun set and the infinity edge of the pool was long which gave everyone the chance to have a front row seat!

Adult Pool
The adult pool was peaceful and quiet. There were only a few people there when we went. The rectangular pool overlooks the Hamilton Harbour, what a view! So many beautiful boats were docked here. The 8 foot deep pool has a great view and is near the Fairmont Gold Lounge, which was perfect for us.
*Make sure to peek into the boutiques on-site and check out the Factor Bermuda dual purpose bodysuits, I love my for swimming!

Fairmont Gold Experience
We took part in the Fairmont Gold Experience, which included: transportation to and from the airport, unlimited access to the Fairmont Gold Lounge, continental breakfast, afternoon tea, hors d'oeuvres and a selection of beverages. Think of this as an upscale airport lounge, it is the perfect place to relax, visit, or use your computer. We spent a lot of quality time here editing our photos. It has a lovely balcony attached, and is located near the adult pool and the beautiful courtyard.

The Princess Beach Club
The beach club is a 20 minute shuttle ride from the Princess Hamilton. The shuttles operate regularly starting at 9:00 AM, running every 45 minutes. The last departure form the hotel to the beach is at 4:30 PM and the last departure from the beach to the hotel is at 6:00 PM.
The beach front property is BERMUDA-FUL! There is a pavilion with tables and chairs for dining or relaxing in the shade and beach loungers set up all over the property. You will find multiple instagrammable hot spots to take souvenir pictures including: pastel sun chairs in pink, blue, green and yellow, three water hammocks, and one hammock hung from two palm trees.

Restaurants on the Property
Marcus’
Marcus’ is located in the former Gazebo Room of the hotel, is a beautiful restaurant with panoramic views of the ocean and Hamilton Harbour.
The restaurant has a gorgeous central bar, an open kitchen and a collection of art fit for a king! The collection contains pieces from Andy Warhol, Liu Ye, Nelson Mandela, etc…
The food was vibrant and delicious! The world-renowned chef, Marcus Samuelsson did a fantastic job creating the menu, we had the pleasure of meeting him as he came over to say hello! We enjoyed the following: Princess Margaritas, Coconut And Carrot Soup, Yep CHICKEN and WAFFLES, Ace Boi LOBSTER Tacos and the Hamilton Princess Cheesecake!

1609 & Crown & Anchor
*We did not eat at either of these restaurants, but heard good things!
The Staff
The staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating! They took care of us from the moment we landed, until the moment we flew out. The Princess Hamilton has some truly amazing people working for them. A big thank you to everyone who works for the hotel for making our stay so memorable.
Twizy Rental (Electric Car)
We rented a Twizy and boy was it fun! The rental is right on site in the parking lot of the Hamilton Princess. This is a great way to explore the island, as you cannot rent cars in Bermuda. The Twizy is more spacious than you may think when taking a glance at it! And we zipped all around!
